Yesterday morning my family and I hopped on a train to Chicago. We enjoyed our trip east and are now enjoying some extended family time together in the Windy City in celebration of Heather’s mom’s birthday. Heather and I moved to the Chicago area to attend seminary after getting married in 2002 and lived out this way for 6 years before returning back to Kansas. We are excited to connect with and introduce our kids to some of our favorite Chicago places!
This Sunday is a day full of opportunities at our church and I trust you’ll be present to take advantage of them. At 9:30 a.m. (in Fellowship Hall) and 11 a.m. (in the Chapel) there will be an additional information meeting about Miracle Sunday. These meetings are designed to extend the conversation started during the previous Sunday morning meetings. There will be specific information about how to give and a time to answer questions. Please plan to attend one of the two gatherings if you have any remaining questions about our Miracle Sunday, scheduled for 2/19.
On Sunday our Youth Group will also be having a Souper Bowl fundraiser selling soup, chili, and mac & cheese for their mission trip this summer. I invite you to consider letting the youth take care of your lunch plans as you support the fundraiser.
I will be back to the office the middle of next week and look forward to reconnecting then. I hope and pray that you have a great weekend and trust you’ll be blessed in worship as Shawn O’Trimble, our Associate Pastor of Mission Evangelism, preaches at all three services.
